DAY 37 Prayer for Peaceful Reunification

남북으로 헤어진 일천만 이산가족이 자유롭게 오갈 수 있도록 길을 열어 주옵소서.

사랑의 하나님, 1945년에 하나님의 은총으로 해방이 되었지만, 비통하게도 남북으로 분단이 되었나이다. 민족사의 단절이요, 이산가족들이 사랑하는 가족들과 헤어지는 아픔이었나이다. 생이별한 이산가족들의 애통함을 누가 능히 헤아리겠나이까! 동물들도 남북을 넘나들건만, 우리 인간은 왜 자유롭게 남북을 오갈 수 없는지 안타깝습니다. 이제는 자유 상봉의 기쁨을 내려 주옵소서. 

하나님, 남북의 이산가족들이 70년이 지난 지금도 가족의 생사라도 알기를 기도하고 있습니다. 아버지, 어머니를 그리워하면서, 아들딸의 안부라도 알기를 소망하는 아픔을 기억하여 주옵소서. 더 미루지 마시고 하루라도 빨리 만나고, 소식이라도 나누며 지내게 하옵소서. 흩어진 이스라엘 백성을 회복해 주신 것처럼, 1천만 가족들이 상봉하게 하옵소서. 우리 모두의 희망과 꿈을 이루어 주옵소서. 한반도에 그어진 휴전선 한 줄, 이 매듭을 풀어 주시옵소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

Open the way for the 10 million people who are separated from their families to come and go freely across the border.

Loving God, after the blessing of liberation in 1945, there occurred the bitter division into North and South. This was a break in our national history that caused the painful separation of many from their loved ones. Who can fully understand the sorrows of people who are separated so completely from their families? Even the animals freely cross the border, but humans cannot come and go as we please. Grant us now the joy of reunion.

God, after 70 years, people are hoping even now for the assurance that their loved ones are alive and well. Remember those who miss their mothers, fathers, sons and daughters, hoping to get word from them. Do not delay but quickly allow them to meet or at least communicate with each other. As you gathered the scattered people of Israel, we appeal to you to reunite these 10 million persons with their families. This is our hope and dream, that the ceasefire line drawn in the middle of the Korean peninsula may be eradicated.
We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
