DAY 42 Prayer for Peaceful Reunification

May the next generation understand the tragedy of the Korean War and division, and work for peace and reunification.

Loving God, in this 70th year after liberation, the North and the South are still divided. Help the next generation understand the realities of the past war and present division. May they strive toward peace and reunification. May they realize that overcoming the division is their confession and practice of faith. Help the next generation become the leaders of peaceful reunification. Help the Korean church to teach the young generation about the pains and evils of division.

God, may the next generation never forget that the North and the South are one nation, brothers and sisters. On both sides of the border may they overcome the pains of the previous generations and work toward reconciliation. May the young generation in the South reflect deeply on the tragic history of division. May the generation that has not experienced war become the leaders of forgiveness and reconciliation. May they overcome division and work toward peace.
We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

다음세대가 분단과 6•25전쟁의 비극을 이해하고 평화와 통일을 위해서 힘쓰게 하옵소서.

사랑의 하나님! 광복 70주년을 맞았지만, 여전히 남북은 분단된 채 살고 있습니다. 다음세대가 6‧25전쟁과 분단현실을 바로 이해하게 하옵소서. 이들이 평화와 통일을 위해 힘쓰는 사람들이 되게 하여 주옵소서. 이들이 분단의 극복이 하나님을 향한 신앙의 고백이자 실천임을 깨닫게 하옵소서. 다음세대로 하여금 평화통일의 주역이 되게 하옵소서. 한국교회가 분단의 아픔과 폐해를 다음세대에게 가르치게 하소서. 

하나님, 다음세대가 남북이 동포이며, 형제‧자매임을 잊지 않게 하옵소서. 남북의 다음세대가 과거 세대들의 아픔을 극복하고 화해의 일꾼들이 되게 하옵소서. 남북의 다음세대가 비극적 분단의 역사에 대하여 깊은 성찰을 갖게 하옵소서. 전쟁을 체험하지 않은 다음세대가 용서와 화해의 주역이 되게 하옵소서. 다음세대가 편견과 오해를 극복하고 화해와 평화의 주인공이 되게 하옵소서. 다음세대가 분단을 극복하고 평화를 세우는 일꾼이 되게 하옵소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
