Sewol commission budget will run out before ferry is lifted

Members of the Sewol Victims Families Committee wave to opposition lawmakers at the last day of the 19th National Assembly, in Seoul on May 19.

On the day, due to opposition by the ruling Saenuri Party, the special act to investigate the Sewol sinking was not submitted to the plenary session.

The Sewol ferry will be lifted in July, but the investigative committee’s budget will run out in June.
