DAY 17 Prayer for Peaceful Reunification

May there be active communication between the young people of North Korea and South Korea, motivating this generation to grow together as stepping stones to social reunification.

God, you are the Lord of history. Through your grace, grant us the vision of a unified Korea in the next generation. May the next generation open a new era in the Korean peninsula where everyone lives and thrives, where human dignity is respected and love overflows. May they overcome all competition and hatred, and usher in an age of cooperation and love.

God of peace and reconciliation, for this purpose we ask that you open the gates of interaction to the youth of North and South. May they be the generation of reunification, serving as stepping stones to social unity. Comfort the youth who suffer under materialism and extreme competition in college entrance exams. Protect those who have been separated from their families as they crossed national borders. May these young people, in whatever circumstances, not despair but stand firm in your grace. We especially pray that youth within the church will grow up to be leaders of peaceful reunification.
We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

남북한 청소년 간에 인적교류가 활발해져서 통일 세대가 함께 자라나고 통일 한국의 사회 통합에 디딤돌이 되게 하옵소서.

역사의 주인이신 하나님, 남과 북의 다음세대가 분단을 넘어서 통일된 한민족을 꿈꾸도록 은혜를 허락하옵소서. 평화롭게 통일되어 다음세대가 한반도의 새 시대를 열게 하옵소서. 인간의 존엄이 존중되고 사랑이 넘치는 한반도에서 남과 북의 다음세대가 맘껏 뛰어 놀게 하옵소서. 경쟁과 증오를 벗어나게 하시고, 협력과 사랑의 시대가 오게 하옵소서.

평화와 화해의 하나님, 이를 위해서 닫혀 있는 남북 간에 청소년 교류의 문을 열어 주시옵소서. 이들이 통일세대가 되어, 통일한국의 사회통합에 디딤돌이 되게 하여 주옵소서. 지나친 입시경쟁과 물질주의로 고통받는 청소년들을 위로하시며, 살기 위해 가족과 헤어지고 국경을 넘는 청소년들도 붙들어 주시옵소서. 어떤 처지에서든 좌절하지 않고 든든히 서도록 은총을 베풀어 주시옵소서. 특별히 교회에서 자라나는 청소년들로 하여금 평화통일의 주인공으로 성장하게 하옵소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
