DAY 57 Prayer for Peaceful Reunification

통일이 될 때까지 올림픽 경기가 열릴 때마다 남북한이 단일팀으로 참여하게 하여 주시옵소서.

샬롬의 하나님! 저희를 평화의 일꾼으로 부르신 하나님의 은총을 찬양합니다. 하지만 저희들이 분단된 한반도를 전쟁과 냉전 가운데 70년이나 방치해 왔사옵니다. 저희를 불쌍히 여겨 주시옵소서. 통일 한반도를 꿈꾸며 주님께 간구하오니 저희를 써 주시옵소서. 남과 북이 냉전의식을 극복하고 평화의식을 고양하여 문화와 체육행사 등에도 하나의 팀으로 만나게 하옵소서. 

하나 되게 하시는 하나님! 올림픽을 통해 인류는 친선과 우의를 다져왔나이다. 4년마다 겨울과 여름에 모이며 함께 뛰고 달렸나이다. 그러나 남과 북은 분단을 자랑하듯이 때로는 국호를 달리하여 올림픽 경기에 참여하였습니다. 이제 이러한 어리석음과 부끄러움으로부터 벗어나게 하여 주옵소서. 남북이 단일팀을 구성하여 참여하도록 섭리하여 주옵소서. 남북이 더 힘 있게 내 달리고, 한 마음으로 한 팀을 응원하게 하옵소서. 그 과정에서 하나 됨을 더욱 진하게 느끼게 하여 주옵소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

Until the time of reunification, may the teams from North and South enter the Olympic Games as one unified team.

God of shalom, we praise you for calling us to work for peace. But we have neglected to address the division of Korea, in a state of Cold-War ceasefire for the past 70 years. Have mercy on us. As we dream of reunification we ask that you use us for this cause. May the North and the South overcome the Cold War mindset and cultivate peace. May we also come together as one team in cultural and athletic events.

You are the God who unites. Through the Olympic Games, humanity has cultivated friendship and goodwill. In winter and summer every four years we have gathered for athletic games. But the North and the South have participated shamelessly as separate nations. Save us from such foolishness and shame. In your providence let the North and the South form a united team. May we play as one and cheer each other on as one. In the process may we deeply realize our oneness.
